Preparations for Christmas

The Coming Of Our Saviour Into Our Hearts Once More In A New Way.

Written by: Sr Margaret Ann

The Youth Group with the help of Sr. Alisi and Brother Joseph, a postulant with the Augustinians of the Assumption, worked hard and practiced diligently to learn and sing Carols. They saw this as a way to spread the gospel message of the Incarnation of Jesus. When the time came, they were able to sing so well that they were invited to sing in the homes of several of the Isla residents. Their efforts were greatly appreciated.

The next big event for them was their annual visit to Star CIty, an amusement park which is always a favourite place to go. The photo with Santa is a happy reminder of this event.

The Livelihood group are enjoying their well-earned rest after several weeks of being very busy completing their Christmas orders. The Clinic continued to give their usual service to the community during Christmas time and are now engaged in a survey of the population in this Barangay, offering investigations( and treatment where necessary),for Tuberculosis.

The Early Learning Centre came to a triumphant closure of the pre- Christmas period with Parties for all the children concerned. The good things for these were provided by some very generous groups of people who gave both of their time and resources to give joy to so many children and their families ! After the Holiday they will return to the classroom to continue to do their best to learn to read and write......and to have some fun in the process.

There are 28 members of the Little Sisters of the Assumption Youth Organization (LSAYO), the age of 12-18 years old. This is the 5th year since the youth group is functioning, started by Sister Eveline Valette in 2002. In 2004, I, Sr. Alisi began to work with the youth group and continue until the present time.
