The Livelihood is now engaged in making a variety of bags from tarpaulin and recycled juice containers.

13 women and 8 young men benefit from the Livelihood. The women have developed their skills considerably over the years and are now able to make most types of bags. Each year we export 1 cubic meter of goods to Ireland. We are also successfully producing cards which are very beautiful, and the women can be proud of their efforts.

The number of orders for souvenir pedicabs, jeepneys and Christmas decorations made from recycled tin cans keep the men busy all the year round.

We are grateful to those who donate cans and tarpaulin for this project. We are searching for new ways to expand and develop this area of our work. Two young men have gone back to school, working in the morning and attending classes in the afternoon.

Credit Union

178 people are involved in what we call 'Credit Union'.

This is a small banking / loan service for our workers and some of the parents who attend groups at the Centre. Along with this, a series of sessions on budgeting has been given which has also helped those interested, to manage their money better. We wish to encourage people to save and there are now 89 children also in this scheme.
