The Livelihood workers are now engaged in making bags out of recycled tarpaulin. This work, as well as the making of souvenirs from recycled cans, continued throughout the time of the construction of a toilet in one corner of the room, for the convenience of the workers. There were no complaints of the noise, dust or inconvenience from them, and the local builders worked swiftly and efficiently.

16 women and 8 young men benefit from the Livelihood. The women have developed their skills considerably over the years and are now able to make most types of bags. Each year we export 1 cubic metre of goods to Ireland.

We are now successfully producing cards for a Book Store Chain. They are very beautiful and the women can be very proud of their efforts.

The men continue to make Christmas decorations and pedicabs from recycled cans. We are looking to develop this area of our work. Two of the young men have gone back to school - working in the morning and then going to their classes in the afternoon.

44 people are involved in what we call a “Credit Union”. A small banking/loan service for our workers, and some of the parents. Along with this a series of sessions on budgeting has been given which has also helped those interested in better handling their money.
